Your donation will help the school equip the kitchen with cooking utensils and software programs for the Virtual Room

With the help from the Federal Government under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century, Kingswood is renovating its building to include a Kitchen Garden Classroom and Virtual Room.
The Virtual Room Experience
Students will enter the Virtual Room and be immediately immersed into a virtual environment by viewing images on three walls of the room. The Virtual Room at Kingswood is a first for Government schools and will transform teaching and learning. Students will be engaged virtually in a technology-rich interactive environment. The pedagogy of the Virtual Room is based on giving students and teachers informative and explicit experiences via Virtual Field Trips & Excursions. Students will attain memorable learning experiences, extended knowledge and skills that are not just ICT specific but are cross curricular.

The Kitchen Garden Classroom
The aim of the Kitchen Garden Program is pleasurable food education for young children. The underlying belief is that by introducing this holistic approach we have a chance to positively influence children’s food choices. The creation and care of a Kitchen Garden teaches children about the natural world, about its beauty and how to care for it, how best to use the resources we have, and an appreciation for how easy it is to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, healthy food. The Year 1 & 2 students have begun planting seasonal vegetables in the community garden. The kitchen classroom when built will be used by all students once a week to prepare, cook and share healthy meals.
